A word from our Parish Priest -
Fr Peter Simmons...
I welcome you to St Hilary of Poitiers Church, Morphett Vale.
My wife, Sally, and I work as a team and encourage each other in our daily lives and work.
Sally works in the local community as a child care worker.
Our daughter, Sarah, is married with a one son and lives in Melbourne.
Our son, James is a teacher at Roxby Downs High School.
We are a family who care for each other and for the people of our home Parish.
As a priest with 30 years’ experience in both country and city ministries and service in the Reserves of the Defence Force for over 25 years, I believe I can engage people, no matter what their circumstances, and with the help of God, bring them back to their faith and assist them in coping with any issues they may have.
Sally and I are committed to the Parish. We attend the working bees and other functions and are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Over the years we have run many successful theme nights which bring the parishioners together socially and strengthen their sense of community. We believe teamwork is important.
I encourage people to use their gifts that God has given them to enhance their own ministry.
My ministry in Morphett Vale Parish includes regular visits to Grandview Nursing Home and Woodcroft College. The Parish has strong associations with these two entities together with Anglicare whose Agency has an office adjoining our parish property.
I am happy to meet with people in need of services for Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals and counselling at a mutually convenient time and venue. Please see the Contacts Page for my contact details.
